Three needle bind off
This photo tutorial shows you how to work a three needle bind off. It is also called a three needle cast off in the UK. It is used to create a neat seam as shown on this pixie hat pattern
1. Fold your knitting, right sides together, so that both needles are in your left hand. Use a third needle of the same size to pick up the first stitch from both left hand needles.
2. Knit the two stitches together.
3. Pick up the next stitch from each of the left hand needles.
4. Knit the two stitches together.
5. Slip the stitch that you worked first on the right hand needle over the second stitch and off the needle.
6. Repeat until you bind off all the stitches.
When working this method with an odd number of stitches, place the extra stitch on the front left hand needle and pick up 2 stitches from that needle, plus 1 from the back left hand needle in step 1 of this tutorial. Knit 3 stitches together in step 2. Follow exactly as shown for the rest of the stitches.
