Create a beautiful, yet simple embroidered baby bonnet with this easy-to-follow knitting pattern. Knit in DK weight yarn, this bonnet features knitted ties and an optional floral embroidery design, adding a charming touch to a classic style.
The bonnet is knit flat up to the crown, where you can choose to continue flat and sew a small seam or switch to double-pointed needles for a seamless finish. The embroidery pattern is included, along with links to helpful video tutorials for those new to embroidering on knits.
You can embroider the floral design on one or both sides, making it easy to personalise your bonnet just the way you like. A lovely project for little ones, whether as a gift or a special handmade keepsake.
Included in the pattern is:
+ Full knitting instructions for 5 sizes from birth to 5 years with photos and video links.
+ Embroidery design in 3 sizes for you to trace onto water-soluble stabiliser, which you place over your knitting and embroider over.
+ Video links to tutorials on how to use the stabiliser and work all of the embroidery stitches needed to complete the design.
The method shown to embroider the design uses water-soluble stabiliser which can be bought from needlework stores or major online companies. You could also choose to embroider freehand if you prefer.
The bonnet also looks lovely as it is without any embroidery.
